Season 4

Hello, dear friends, we’re back again to capture some special performances at the Nook. It’s an honour that you would want to share your music with us, but we can offer good people, good wine, and good times, in return.

Each season is 10 sessions, and this season we’re inviting four artists per session, with an additional ‘guest spot’ to cover any cancellations. If none happen, then the guest spot will get to record one song.

You can check the current dates below, then apply for the session that suits you.

You can also volunteer to work behind the scenes at the Nook. Video, photography, lights, sound, set design, you name it, just send us an email: adam@inthenooksessions.com

Current dates (all booked):

Session 27: Wednesday, April 10th

Session 28: Wednesday, April 17th

Session 29: Wednesday, May 8th

Session 30: Wednesday, May 22nd

Session 31: Wednesday, June 5th

Sessions 32-36 to be announced

We expect the sessions to start again in August ‘24

Some helpful information…

We don’t really have ‘rules’ in the Nook, well, we have one, but you’ll have to find that out on the night, though, over 26 sessions, we think we can answer most of your questions.

If not, that email again: adam@inthenooksessions.com

or DM us on Instagram

If you like, you can watch a few videos from our back catalogue of ~140 performances on YouTube to see what we’re about

  • The Nook is a special environment to share your music. It’s four to five artists, plus crew, who are all artists themselves. As you can imagine, that makes it an artist only space, and this is usually where the magic happens.

Each artist performs two tracks, everything gets recorded, and we release one video per session. The archive will get released as we get more support, time, and resources.

We always record on a Wednesday. Load-in times are usually 7-7:30pm. You must arrive before the introduction (8pm), then recording lasts anywhere between 2-4 hours depending on setup, wine consumed, and other variables.

  • We don’t see follows or fame as metrics, we just want to see you perform. If you can pour your heart into a song, then we’ll be honoured to capture it.

Bands, quartets, solo acts, music, poetry, we’ve had quite the range in the nook. Check out our YouTube for all performances.

  • Bring whatever is specific to your setup, but we have a nice selection of microphones, amplifiers and a guitar or two laying around.

You can find our tech spec here

  • We don’t allow guests. It’s a small space, and it’s a better night when everyone has a job to do :)

  • After the sessions are released to Instagram (via collaborator invite) and YouTube, we are happy to provide you with a .wav of your recording. You may post this to any streaming service you wish.

We do not share photos, videos, or project files.

You can read more here: Get Your Track (there’s a nice manifesto there, too!)

  • We quite literally want to record everyone, but there are human limitations we’ve learned over the last few seasons (we once recorded 8 artists in one session).

Anyways, we’re touched you’d apply, and we’ll find a way to make it work.

You know, sometimes things taste better the next day :)

Apply, we’d love to hear from you…
