What happens at a session?

Every week, a group of songwriters, creatives and creators share their music.

That’s it.

A little help…

  • Primarily, we invite artists. Mostly songwriters, but we support all art forms. Spoken word, painters, storytellers! If you’re creating something then come showcase it in the Nook.

We also invite those behind the scenes - the heroes; sound engineers, camera operators, visual directors. Heck, if you want art direct a session then please apply!

In the Nook Sessions are not concerts. We are unable to accommodate an audience.

  • Broadly speaking, it’s an artist meetup group. We share new songs, support each other with advice and create a beautiful space to connect in order to help us on our journey towards making a living from our art.

Of course, we’d love to hear your music (or other art forms) and we have a great setup to produce videos, social media content and mastered audio to support your promotion efforts.

We’ll share everything via our channels, but there is never any pressure to play or use the material we create. Your music is yours and you have the ultimate say on whether it gets shared.

  • We have mostly everything you need to record (should you wish to).

Bring yourself and your instrument and maybe a good bottle of natural wine to share :)

We’re a small space so try to keep your sets to that ‘unplugged’ vibe. However, we do moderately amplify guitars and keys and aim to accommodate as many different styles as possible.

  • There are a few ways to do so.

    1. Volunteering - we’re always looking for filmmakers, sound engineers, artist liaison, social media lovers to help create and distribute artist content.

    2. Donations - If you have equipment you can contribute or financial support then please get in touch. Everything supports the artists who play and goes towards making a better recording.

    3. Like, subscribe, share - we are fundamentally a small group dedicated to supporting artists in any way we can. The best way is to ensure their art gets as many chances as possible to succeed in today’s social media landscape.
