The Nook

hello again.

We’ll send you every mastered track we have from your sessions as a .wav file to the email provided via WeTransfer (once we have verified your request).

We don’t send project files, video files, or images. You can find out more by reading our little manifesto below :)

Collectives

Dear artists,

Adam here, and I’d like to take as little of your time to explain what we do.

Put simply, we only exist to support you, the artist. Not only are we all artists ourselves, but we’re now an official non-profit organisation, too.

It’s called ‘Together for Artists gUG’ (on paper), and its mission is to help you make more art. Not like a factory, but to provide you with the spaces, tools, and people, to make your art inevitable, whatever that means to you, and your artistic journey.

We also want to get you money, too, since it’s generally good to always have a little, but we also never want to really ‘make money’ ourselves.

We will go out of our way to give you as much money as possible, in fact.

If this makes you suspicious, then we survive from public/private funding, and eventually donations, should we continue to do cool stuff, and show what can happen when collectives work.

We do not think it wise to build an organisation that relies on siphoning money out of your pockets, and into ours.

Any such business model will warp our incentives, and create a worse collective overall.

Lastly, this leaves us with this important business of ‘ownership’.

We will probably never make a contract for you to sign, because it’s really not the point of what we do here.

We bring people together, and create an environment in which people can perform. Everything else is secondary, like a postcard of what happened on those wonderful Wednesday nights.

So, of course, your music is yours. We do not own it, nor can we really tell you what to do with it, in fact, we just want to create more of it.

To do this, however, we need to build The Nook, or whatever it is that helps you guys in the future, and all we ask is that you trust us.

So, we’d like to keep the project files, and videos, and images, not to build a media empire, but just for quality control, and to help the Nook grow a little.

If you really, really want to be a meanie about it, then, of course, we can send what you need, but this will just give us more admin, less control over our sound, there’ll be videos, music, all over the place.

Poor Adam might explode.

We are a collective, let’s help each other, and we’ll show the world just how easy it is to do beautiful things.

Love,
The Nook
